Applications are now open for the 2026 Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Scholarship.

Since 1970 the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung awards scholarships to international students from around the world to
study and research in Germany. The scholarship program is aiming at international students and graduates who have acquired a university degree and who intend to complete postgraduate or master studies, doctoral studies or a research stay of at least four semesters at a university in Germany.


Funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, KAS offer scholarships to international students and PhD candidates who plan to begin or continue their studies at a German university.


Mandatory Requirements:

  • German language proficiency: Minimum B2 level, demonstrated for example by a Goethe-Institut certificate.
  • Master’s applicants: Must intend to enroll in a four-semester MA program at a German university.
  • Bachelor’s applicants: Must have successfully completed at least two semesters of a BA program at a German university.

Application and the deadline

The International Scholarship Program supports committed international students and doctoral candidates who wish to pursue a Bachelor’s degree (from the second semester onward), a Master’s degree, or a doctorate at a German university.

If you are applying through our domestic selection procedure and not via one of our international offices, please submit your application through the KAS Campus Portal and upload all required documents there.
