About Apprenticeships in Germany

Apprenticeship programmes (Ausbildungen) are training programmes offered in Germany for school leavers who choose not to pursue degree programmes. Students in apprenticeship programs are employed part-time by a company while attending school. Depending on the program, they may alternate between work and training weekly or monthly. The program typically lasts three years, with students receiving a monthly salary for their living expenses. To enroll, students must have a host company or training institution and a strong proficiency in German.

In 2022, AG-Career Hub facilitated a partnership between Hochschule Koblenz University of Applied Sciences in Germany and Mount Kenya University in Kenya to promote mutually beneficial collaborations between the two countries. In 2023, the first pilot project was launched, offering young individuals the chance to train as nurses in Germany. Candidates who meet the specified requirements begin with a preparatory course at Mount Kenya University to prepare for their training in Germany. Keen to know more about our programme?
